Here are some international travel tips that will help you prepare for your travel abroad.
- Before you leave on an international trip, make sure that you leave a copy of your passport, ticket, hotel reservation and travelers checks with a trusted friend or family member. This is to ensure you have a backup in case something happens on your trip.
- Take all your expensive jewelry and leave it in a safe deposit or lock it away safely in your home.
- If you have a medical problem, carry a card with all your medical details. In addition, carry sufficient amount of your prescription medicines because you might not be able to get them in the country you are planning to visit.
- To avoid any problems with the Customs, make sure all your medicines are in their original packaging. Also carry a copy of prescription and generic name in case you have to buy the medicines locally.
- Carry a copy of all your important travel documents and passports for emergency.
- Once you reach your destination, make sure you get a safe deposit box in your hotel and securely store all your important documents and valuable in there.
- While sightseeing, only carry enough money and travelers checks that you will require while you are away from the hotel.
- Do not carry just travelers checks and local currency. Make sure you have other means of payments like credit cards, foreign currency and ATM card.
