The current president of Egypt is Hosny Mubarak. He was born in the province of Menoufiyah. In 1981, he became the president of this Arab republic, and also the chairman of his political part, the National Democratic Party. He is the 4th president of the country. |
He has a bachelor’s degree from the military academy where he studied military science. He also has a degree from the airforce academy of the country in aviation science. He has rendered his services to the military and air force of Egypt.
Mubarak's first term as president was in 1981 when he won the elections held in the country. He was re-elected in 1987, 1993 and 1999 by the Egyptians. He also heads the Organizations of African Unity as its chairperson. He has also received many prestigious awards like Armor of the Man of Peace in 1983, the next year he got the Personality of the Year prize, and the very next year he received Man of the Year. Apart from the awards received, he also won many other citations and medals, and the UN Prize of Population in 1994 is one of them.
Mubarak has also received many awards including civilian and military decorations awarded by the government of Egypt.
Egypt is considered to be a leading economic power in Africa, and the credit for this is given to Hosny Mubarak. He has worked hard to help his country change and develop. He is also actively working with the Israeli government and the Palestinians to bring about peace in the region.
According to certain political analysts, Mubarak will continue to be the president of Egypt for the next few years as he is preparing his son to take over the mantle from him.
