South Africa is rich with resources like gold and the country contributes nearly 20 percent of the world’s gold. It also is a land of the famous De Beers diamonds.
South Africa is also rich in wild life with all the big four like elephant, cheetah, lion and leopard living here. Also, there are nearly 7 of the world heritage sites like the Cradle of the Humankind, which is a fossil of a prehistoric human, and also several Stone Age crafts and tools were found here. The Greater St Lucia Park is another world heritage site which has a diverse ecological system of flora and fauna. Robbern Island is where the great Victoria Falls is located and also the prison which held Mandela for years is located here on the island.
