Asia is the largest continent in the world and has two of the biggest emerging economies in the world -- China and India. Therefore, it made sense to know some Asia facts because the continent is dominating the world economy. |

- Asia stretches from Japan through Russia.
- Over 60 percent of the world population lives in Asia, making the continent one of the biggest consumer markets in the world. Of course, the population spread is concentrated in China and India.
- Asia is home to many natural resources like petroleum forests, metals, water and fish.
- China has the largest economy in Asia in terms of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and is ranked second in the world just after the US; while Japan has the second largest and India the fourth largest economy in the world
- The financial hubs of Asia are based in Hong Kong, Mumbai, Singapore and Tokyo.
- Asia is home to many different religions and beliefs but the most dominating are Hinduism, Islam and Buddhism.
- In most Asian countries more than one language is spoken. For instance, in Indonesia there are 600 languages, in India 415 while in the Philippines there are 100.
- The world's tallest mountain, Mt Everest, is located in Asia. Mt Everest is 29,035 feet (8,850 meters) above sea level and it is located in the tiny country of Nepal.
- Asia's largest lake is the Caspian Sea.
