What Kind Of Government Does Burma Have ?
Burma has been renamed as Myanmar and today, the country is run by a military government. The military is called Tatmadaw. It is also called the State Peace and Development Council. Initially, or throughout history, Burma was a monarchial country ruled by the dynasty of Burma. After the British took over, it was under the British rule until 1937. The Bamar region was initially a part of India, it was ruled by the numerous princely states that were present in India. However, there were several fights between the people of Burma, tribes, the indigenous people and borders.
The Bamars dominate the country of Burma and comprise around eighty percent of the population.
There are several religions like Hindu, Muslim, Christianity and Buddhism in Burma. This also gave rise to religious and ethnic conflict. After that the military stabilized the government in Burma.
The current government in Burma is headed by the Prime Minister who is also the general of the Army and is called Thein Sein. The current government displaced several thousands of people in Burma. Several crossed the borders into Bangladesh. The government is known to be extremely unfriendly. Certain ethnic groups are not treated well in the country, and as a result they are forced to leave the country. Burma is also stricken with problems like forced labor in the military. There is a serious deprivation of human rights in the country. There are other social groups formed by the people which are fighting the government.
