The St. Maurice is a gothic church that was built in the 14th century. The wooden statues of the saint are from the 16th century. There are other churches in the same area like the Martyrdom of St. Catherine, and many other structures. This place has five aisles and 36 columns. The churches and other structures are all built around it.
The Place du Theatre is a huge tower that was built during the First World War in 1914. An old exchange and a courtyard with the statue of Napoleon can be seen here.
Place Rihour is a war memorial, and it also served as a residence for the Dukes of Burgundy. Towards the southwest is the Jesuit Church of St. Etienne.
The Citadel is one of the forts that were built in honor of King Louis XIV. You get here from Port Royale. Also, there is the Porte De Paris, which is a large arch that was erected to welcome the king. It is one of the largest arches in France and is called the Arc De Triumphe. Just close to the arch is a hotel called Hotel D Ville.
One of the best features of Lille is the completely automatic underground train called the Metro. It was built in 1983, and it has been the best addition to the city. It has made tourism very easy and several people take this option.
