Travel Safety :

Travel Safety is one of most of important things, when you are traveling. Many people choose to travel alone these days. There are some simple precautions that they should take for safety. Sometime this tips can even help protecting you from harassment.

If you are a female, modest dressing is advisable in most cases. Try to wear dresses of a decent length and cover the shoulders. In some religious places, it may be mandatory to be covered from head to toe. Find out the local customs before venturing out. In temples and mosques, everyone should cover their heads. Unaccompanied people are vulnerable in crowded markets, beach resorts and tourist centers.  Be aware of the people around you. If something does not feel right, immediately take steps to rectify the situation.

Don’t walk alone at night. Go to well-lit marketplaces. If you are going out partying, carry a sweater or coat to cover yourself while returning. Be prepared to raise an alarm if anything untoward happens. You will find local people in most countries very helpful. Don’t take any shortcuts down dark alleys. When you venture out, don’t wear any flashy jewelry or valuable items. Ask the locals about the safe places to visit in the city. To prevent your purse from getting stolen, wear it across your shoulder rather than hang it on your shoulder.

Be careful about getting into conversations with strangers. Don’t reveal your travel plans to anyone. Be firm and clear if you don’t wish to speak with anyone. Be careful of scam artists, since they usually target alone people. These people will engage you in their sob stories, and rob you at the first available opportunity.
