What Is The Language Of Bahrain ?

Since it is a prominent Arab country where the population comprises a majority of Muslims, other languages like Farsi and Urdu are also spoken widely by the native speakers. These three languages are extensively used by the native speakers in their day-to-day communication.Nevertheless, native speakers hailing from different regions of Bahrain use different vernaculars of Arabic. The people in the rural areas use a different dialect of Arabic as compared to those from the urban areas. The Bahrainis in the urban areas speak a more standard form of Arabic, which is quite different from the traditional Arabic.
As it is the official language of this kingdom, all the administrative and office work involve use Arabic for verbal and written forms of communication. Arabic is the medium of instruction in most schools and colleges of Bahrain.
However, due to the influx of people belonging to various nationalities, the people speak languages other than the ones mentioned above. English as a language is becoming popular and most people can be heard communicating in English as well. The subject of English is mandatory in the Schools and colleges and is being taught as the second language. With the business and commercial interests crossing borders, communicating in English has become important.
To cater to its mixed population, the television and radio programs are being broadcast on Bahraini language and some others in English. Likewise, the national and regional newspapers are published in Arabic, English and other languages.
