It is a small but beautiful island country located in the Persian Gulf. The kingdom of Bahrain is an archipelago. It is a cluster of 33 islands in the Persian Gulf.Since Bahrain is an archipelago or an island country, it is not bounded by any other country but rather it is bounded by the Persian Gulf. The coast line is 161 km or 100 mi long. However, as per the general guidelines, Bahrain has claimed 22 km or 12 nautical miles into the sea from its borders and a further 44 km or 24 nautical miles from this, into the sea.
The neighboring countries include Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Iran. Bahrain does share its land borders with any of these countries but is only connected to them through the sea.
Bahrain is connected to Saudi Arabia on the west through the King Fahd Causeway. Qatar neighbors it to the southeast with the Gulf of Bahrain separating these two countries.
Bahrain is known as a Kingdom because it is ruled by a king or a monarch. The country is known for rich reserves of oil. Like other countries in the Middle East, it has a dominant Muslim population.
The location of Bahrain has an influence on the climatic conditions. Due to its proximity to the Persian Gulf, the climatic conditions of Bahrain are characteristic of coastal areas. The weather is generally hot and humid.
