The state is bifurcated into another 58 counties. Earlier California was under the control of Spanish colonies. It formed as a U.S territory in 1847 and was included as the 31st state in the year 1850. The California Central Valley produces nearly one-third of nation’s food. The climate keeps varying from Mediterranean to sometimes sub Arctic.

White Mountains are considered to constitute maximum number of trees. The giant sequoia trees are believed to be the largest trees in the entire planet, and are found in California.

People of California normally encounter hot summers and colder winters. The state is easily prone to earthquakes, droughts, volcanoes, wildfires, floods, tsunamis and landslides. The highest point, namely Mt Whitney touching 14,491 feet, is situated in California. It includes several other tourist places like the SeaWorld, Lego Land, San Diego Zoo, Belmont Amusement Park, and San Diego Wild Animal Park. You just cannot miss the Golden Gate Bridge which spreads over the Golden Gate and leads towards the opening of San Francisco Bay.
