When Did California Become A State ?

California has always been known for its geography, attractive climate and diverse population. You can locate Baja California which is towards the south, while Oregon is towards the north. The border towards the east is Nevada, and the one towards the southeast is Arizona.

California was proclaimed as a state on 9 September 1850. Prior to this many countries tried to take control of this state right from Russians to Spanish. The end of Spanish rule was because of Mexican colonization. On 13 May, 1846, the US fought a battle with Mexico. With the support of the US army, the residents did take over the place. Then from 1847 onwards, the US military army took control of all political, social and economic problems.

This continued till 1849 and soon after a government was set to force and rule. Just eleven months after formation of the government, the U.S congress considered it to be the thirty-first state. In order, to stop migration construction of Lincoln highway and Route 66 took place. The state is bifurcated into another 58 counties. Previously, California was under Spanish rule. It was made into a US territory in the year 1847 and was incorporated as the thirty-first state after three years, in 1850.

The California Central Valley generates approximately one-third of the total national food produce. The climate keeps varying from Mediterranean to sometimes sub Arctic.

White Mountains are considered to constitute maximum number of trees. The giant sequoia trees considered to be the largest trees in the entire planet are found in California.

California is known for its hot summers and cold winters. The state is easily prone to earthquakes, droughts, volcanoes, wildfires, floods, tsunamis and landslides. It is the bright city of nearly most of the entertainment sectors.
