Rhode Island is the smallest state in the US, and it stretches across for only 37 miles and is bordered by the ocean on either sides. Rhode Island was also one of the last states to be colonized and then it became a state. The state is bordered by New York and Connecticut.

One of the first observation towers was constructed on Rhode Island during the King Philips War in the year 1676.

Rhode Island has the most talked about light houses in the US, and every one of them has historic value and is unique.

Polo was first played in the US in the city of Newport. The city was also home to the first tennis championship that took place. In addition, it was one of the first states in the US to have an open golf tournament. Rhode Island is also home to the Tennis Hall of Fame.

John F. Kennedy got married on Rhode Island.

The Flying Horse Carousel located at Watch Hill is the oldest carousel in the entire country. Also, the first circus was held at Rhode Island in the year 1774.

The actual name of Rhode Island is Rhode Island and Providence Plantations. Despite being such a small state, it has two very important cities of United States, and they are Newport and Providence.
