Argentina became a free country on the 9 July 1816 from the slavery of Spain. The country was declared independent by the Congress of Tucumán. Every year the Argentineans celebrate their Independence Day on this date to mark their joy and spirits of freedom. It is a celebration that the people of the country use to mark the achievement of statehood. This day of national pride was achieved after a battle of seven years that began in the year 1810. This famous battle is known as the May Revolution in the world history.
The day is celebrated as a national holiday and all the public or private establishments remain closed on that day to mark the occasion. Every institution celebrates the day at its own level, however, the main and the state celebration is held at the capital Buenos Aires. People engage themselves in attending different remembrance and merriment of the event.
In the main celebration of the occasion, hundreds and thousands of people gather in the capital city of Buenos Aires. The celebrations are also held in the other cities of the country as well. The national flag is unfurled at all the government offices, schools and all the other institutions. People go marrying with their families. They visit each other’s house to share their joys and remember the sacrifice of the people in the past.
