The Literacy rate in Bolivia is 87% (2006) but economic conditions points it to an under-developed country with a GDP of $39.44 billion in 2007 and a Real growth rate of 4.2% with an inflation rate of 8.7%. The country is predominantly based on agriculture and has its own natural resources like Natural Gas, tin, zinc, petroleum, antimony, iron, silver, gold, lead, hydropower and timber.
It also imports petroleum products, plastics, paper, aircraft and aircraft parts, prepared foods, automobiles, insecticides, soybeans to other nations. Despite South America's second-largest natural gas reserves as well as considerable oil producer, the country remained one of the poorest on the continent.
