Instead of having regular four seasons, Ecuador has alternate periods of wet and dry. The weather in Ecuador is primarily four types.In the Andes Mountain, the weather is wet, the coastal region has cloudy weather, the Amazon is known for its tropical weather conditions, and the Galapagos Islands have completely different weather conditions.
In the highlands and the capital city of Quito, the temperatures range in the 60s during the day. You can have light showers occasionally. However, the weather is comfortable and pleasant right through the year. The Amazon region of Ecuador experiences rains right through the year and it is hot and humid. In April and June, this region receives maximum rainfall. However, the rains offer the much needed break from the humidity and heat, and therefore, they are always welcome.
The Galapagos Islands have warm and wet weather from January to April. This is the best time to go snorkeling in the surrounding waters. During the other months, the water is cold with an average temperature of 20 degrees Celsius, or 68 degrees Fahrenheit. The Galapagos Islands receive rain during January and April, but the rest of the months are dry and cool.
If you are beach lover, then the right time to go to Ecuador's beautiful beaches is between January and May. However, most Ecuadorians tend to go to beaches during June and August, but during that time, the weather gets quite chilly.
