According to linguists and language experts, Guarani is spoken by many people across Paraguay. The two languages of Paraguay, Spanish and Guarani, have been considered official since 1992 after the new constitution was adopted. However, within the country, you will find people speaking other dialects that primarily belong to four main language families. These families are Toba-Maskoy language, Mataco Mataguayo language, Zamuco and Guaicuru. It has been seen that Spanish is mostly spoken in big cities and medium sized towns. However, in rural areas and small towns, people usually speak Guarani.
