However, today, the foods of Paraguay are also influenced by other countries, but the original flavor has been retained.Cassava is made into three different products, namely farina, typyraty and almidon. All these three products are used to prepare different dishes. Usually having some form of cassava in Paraguay is a must for a meal. It can in the form of boiled cassava or chipa, which is bread made from cassava starch, milk, cheese and egg. Usually chipa is consumed during the Holy Week or some other Roman Catholic festivals.
Another popular food in Paraguay is Bori Bori. This is a soup made from corn and cheese. Paraguayans use a lot of beans, squash, peanuts and coconuts along with poultry and beef.
Some of the most popular foods in Paraguay consist of Mbeyu, which is an omelet made from eggs, cassava starch and cheese; Puchero is a stew that has Spanish flavors; Arro Quesu is the rice and cheese made the Paraguayan way; Chicharo is a type of crackling; Bife Koygua is a beef made with onions and fried eggs; and Jopara.

Some of the most popular desserts in Paraguay are Kaguyjy, which is a traditional sweet made from crushed corn kernel, sugar and honey; Kiveve, a sweet polenta made out of corn flour and pumpkin; Kosereva is a sweet made from citrus fruits; Ka'i Ladrillo is a dessert made using peanuts; and Arro Kamby is the Paraguayan rice pudding.
