Modern Uruguayan culture is a mix of European and native South American, and also more liberal and free thinking than that prevalent in its neighboring states.Most Uruguayans are of European descent, namely Italians and Spanish. The people are extremely hospitable and tolerant towards different cultures and religions. The people of Uruguay do not show any discrimination against tourists immaterial what their race, religious affiliations or political ideologies may be. The Uruguayans are known to party quite a bit, and use many national holidays to party and enjoy themselves.
