Unevenness of altitude is quite natural. The southern tip of the country is just 80 kilometers from the Equator.Venezuela comprises of four natural regions, if only climate and geographical features are considered. These regions are the Guyana Highlands, the Central Coast, the Andes and the Llanos or plains.
In Southeast of the country, the Guyana Highlands is situated. The biggest river of Venezuela, the Orinoco River, heads north of this region. Around fifty percent of the country’s territory is contained by it. Gran Sabana is located in the southeastern area.
The establishment of iron, coal, bauxite, manganese industries are a step forward of the region. One of the major cities; Ciudad Guyana has shown an outstanding contribution to growth of the country, which was made possible just because of its infrastructure and local and overseas investments.
The Central Coast region can be held responsible for the urbanization of this country. Caracas, the capital of the country, is the largest city of this region as well of the country. About 75 percent of the population is part of the urban area in Venezuela.
The Andes comprises of the main city San Cristobal. The city is 829 meters above the sea level; 12 kilometers long; and 4,765 meter high. The longest and highest cable cars in the world are spots for tourists.
Llanos, spread over 310,000 square kilometers, is home to cities like San Fernando de Apure, San Juan de Los Morros.
