What Type Of Food Is In Venezuela ?
Venezuelan food is a major attraction among tourists visiting this country. |
Most native recipes of Venezuela make good use of seafood, while other specialties are chicken and meat dishes are served with bread.Because of its location, Venezuela is home some great seafood, though the national dish pabellon is not seafood. It contains stewed meat, shredded meat, black beans, rice and banana, which is a typical South American combo. Thanks to the country’s colonial history, Venezuelan food has been strongly influenced by cuisines of Italy, Spain, Portugal and France. Another famous Venezuelan food is a type of bread called arepas, and they are very easy to prepare. Arepas are made with corn flour, water and salt and served with meats like duck or ham, and come with fillings made of cheese, jam or other toppings.
Since the country is geographically diverse, each region has its own specialties, thanks to the availability of foodstuff. For example, in the eastern regions, it is seafood that dominates, while in the horse opera regions people eat plenty of goat meat and rabbit beef. In the executive regions, meals usually consist of poultry, beef, pork, fish and pasta. The food of this region also has a very strong Italian influence.
In the Llanos pleasant grasslands region, it is beef as well as deer meat that is normally eaten. Then there is the Andes Mountain area, which of course does not offer much seafood due to the elevation. Instead people in this region use a lot of potatoes, wheat, beef, lamb and duck to prepare their dishes.
Food is pretty inexpensive in Venezuela, especially in the small coastal islands and villages.
