The Taj Mahal is regarded as the eight wonder of the world. It is a mausoleum in India. It was built in 1632 and was completed in 1648. The Taj Mahal was listed as a UNESCO World hertitage Site in 1983. The name, Taj Mahal, can translate into “Crown Palace” in English.
Origin And Inspiration Of the Taj Mahal:
During the period of greatest prosperity of Shah Jahan Emperor in 1631, Mamtaz Mahal, the emperor second wife, passed away during the birth of their daughter. The Taj Mahal was ordered to built as the inspiration of love of the Shah Jahan Emperor.
According to the Legend, the Emperor Shah Jahan had planned to build another Taj Mahah with black marble. However, his plan was stop because of the war with his sons.
Influences:
Taj Mahal was influenced by earlier Mughal, Hindu, and Persian architecture designs. For instance, Mughal buildings commonly were constructed by sandstone. Hindu craftsmen were particularly sought for their skills during this period.
