Packing in an efficient manner is important before going on any trip. You should always strive to travel light. Arrange your things in a way that will make it easier to fit in as much as possible in your suitcase.
First, check the weather at your destination. Carry only what is needed. However, do not forget to account for weather fluctuations or high altitude. Plan your outfits around a central color. A pair of jeans will last you a long time, all you need is to carry different T-shirts for each day. If you need to carry woolens, carry a couple of sweaters which will match with all your dresses. Make a list of all your items. Study the list to see if there is anything you can leave behind, without causing too much inconvenience. Remember, you are likely to buy some new clothes during your holiday. You need space in your luggage to bring them back too!
Carry all your important documents in your carry-on baggage. These include passports, traveler’s checks, insurance, tickets, credit cards, and personal identification. Do not put any valuables in the checked-in baggage. They will be safer in your carry-on bag (unless prohibited by security regulations).
Take the proper sized suitcase or bag. If it is too large, your clothes will move around inside it, causing wrinkles. Pack your shoes in a plastic bag to avoid dirtying your clean clothes. Don’t waste any luggage space, pack socks inside your shoes. This will also maintain your shoes’ shape.
