The Visa Requirements For Brazil
People can visit Brazil from the United States. The most common modes of travel to Brazil from the United States are through air and sea. Though the visa requirements for both the methods are the same, there are some minor differences. |
A United States passport should have at least 6 months validity from the day the visa is valid to for entry into the country. In case the validity is less, then you need to renew your passport in order to apply for a Brazilian Visa.
To obtain a Brazilian tourist visa one should have the following:
- At least 6 months validity on the passport from the date of entry
- Brazil visa application that has been completely filled and signed
- One recent photograph which has been taken especially for getting a visa. Computer generated photographs are not accepted as a valid proof of identity.
- A return ticket to the United States showing travel from Brazil and the details given on the ticket and that on the visa application should match with each other like the name and itinerary and flight information.
- Having a copy of your driver’s license is better even though you have the passport as a valid proof of identity.
If you are taking a cruise to Brazil, then in order to apply for visa you should have a cruise itinerary with the name of the traveler clearly mentioned on it. In addition, you should have a round trip cruise ticket which proves that you would be returning along with the cruise. The departure and arrival date should be clearly mentioned on the cruise ticket.
