Visa Requirement In Dubai
Dubai is one of the most popular shopping hotspots for several people across the world and the famous Dubai shopping festival attracts a lot of tourists. While traveling to Dubai you need to know some basic information related to visa requirement to avoid getting turned away at the airport. |
Visa Requirement in Dubai:
A citizen of the United States or a Green Card holder does not need to apply for a visa to enter Dubai and the minimum period allowed to stay in Dubai without a visa is 90days. A visa is required only if the stay is being extended beyond 90 days, and the same rules apply for nationals of most other countries.
The visa that you apply is valid for another 55 days from the date issue and you can visit Dubai any time during those 55 days. However, if you want to extend your visa, a different set of rules apply.
For routine travel visas, the visa or stay permit has to be arranged by the tour operator or the person who has invited the tourist to Dubai. This person is known as the sponsor and he will be given approval for visa after he furnishes details like flight arrival and departure times, passport details of the visitor, and travel plan. As long as there is a sponsor for your Dubai visa, the process is extremely simple and straightforward. Visas without sponsors are only given to diplomats or certain specific kinds of business visas. Otherwise for all other visits a sponsor is required.
If the sponsor is a resident of Dubai and is employed in Dubai, then he or she would need to provide salary details, proof of residency and financial status through bank statements to the Dubai immigration officials. Only people (foreigners) with a certain level of income can be sponsors; otherwise a local person has to be a sponsor.
